Dr. Rodriguez-Monguio's talk examines evidentiary standards, therapeutic value and patient outcomes of advanced therapy medicinal products and the emerging role of AI in regulatory review and market access to innovative therapeutics. Drawing on her research on gene therapies and applications of large language models in regulatory science, Dr. Rodriguez-Monguio explores how new analytical tools can inform regulatory review, strengthen policy analysis, and support evidence-based decision-making.

 

Dr. Rodriguez-Monguio is a health economist with more than 20 years of international experience in health systems performance, pharmaceutical economics, regulation and policy, and outcomes evaluation. She applies data science and economic analysis to generate evidence that informs value-based healthcare, supports access to cost-effective healthcare services and pharmaceuticals, and contributes to advance population health. Her research has received NIH, CDC, and foundation funding, and she has co-authored more than 90 peer-reviewed publications in leading journals including Health Policy, PharmacoEconomics, Drug Safety, Health Economics, Policy and Law, and Medical Care. She has extensive experience leading multidisciplinary teams, providing technical and policy expertise, and building strategic partnerships to inform evidence-based decision-making.
