Overview

Daniel Kwon, MD is an Assistant Professor in the School of Medicine (Department of Medicine / Division of Hematology/Oncology), Staff Physician at the San Francisco VA Medical Center (SFVAMC), and on the Affiliated Faculty at the IHPS. Daniel is an attending physician in the UCSF Genitourinary Medical Oncology and the Hospital-Based Oncology programs, as well as at the SFVAMC where he sees Veterans with prostate cancer.

Daniel's research focuses on evaluating and improving the delivery of cancer care for individuals with advanced prostate cancer, with an emphasis in reach, adoption, equity, and patient-centeredness. He currently leads projects to improve access to genetic testing in vulnerable individuals at UCSF, ZSFG, and throughout the VA. He is also working on understanding and improving patient decision making surrounding germline testing for Veterans with advanced prostate cancer. He uses mixed methods and implementation science methods. His research has been funded by the Department of Defense, Prostate Cancer Foundation, and American Society of Clinical Oncology.
