IHPS Grand Rounds: Innovation in the US Healthcare Delivery System’s Social Care Activities

Laura Gottlieb

Laura Gottlieb, MD, MPH, is an Associate Professor of Family and Community Medicine at UCSF. Her research explores programs and policies related to increasing health care systems’ capacity to identify and intervene on social risk factors to improve health. She is the founding director of the Social Interventions Research and Evaluation Network (SIREN), a national research network that advances health services research on social adversity interventions. Prior to joining the faculty, she completed a two year post-doctoral fellowship with the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Health and Society Scholars Program at UCSF/UCB. Dr. Gottlieb is also Associate Director of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Evidence for Action National Program Office based at the Center for Health and Community. Laura continues to practice medicine at Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital, where she is the medical director of the Health Advocates program. She completed her MD at Harvard Medical School and both her MPH and residency training at the University of Washington.
