Finding the Right Care in the Right Place at the Right Time

A program to aid Stanislaus County, California transports individuals having a mental health crisis to a crisis center for prompt, appropriate treatment.

Janet Coffman, a health services researcher and professor at the UCSF School of Medicine’s Philip R. Lee Institute for Health Policy Studies and the UCSF Healthforce Center comments on this effectiveness of this program.  She believes that "the community paramedicine project in Stanislaus has increased the number of people with mental health needs who are getting the right care in the right place at the right time."
