Mara Decker, DrPH, UCSF
Celeste Newby, MD, PhD, FACP, Tulane University
Mara Decker, DrPH is an Associate Professor of Epidemiology and Biostatistics based at UCSF’s Philip R. Lee Institute of Health Policy Studies. Her research focuses on adolescent sexual and reproductive health and positive youth development. She evaluated California’s adolescent sexual health education programs for over a decade. Currently, she is collaborating with youth and other community partners to improve the health of adolescents in rural communities in the Central Valley and throughout the United States.

Dr. Celeste Newby is an academic hospitalist in the Deming Department of Internal Medicine with primary clinical responsibilities at University Medical Center and Assistant Professor of Medicine, John W. Deming Department of Medicine at Tulane University School of Medicine. She has interests in Health Policy and Advocacy at the local, state, and national levels. She is the faculty advisor for the Pathway to Distinction in Advocacy for the Internal Medicine Residency Program. She is active with several medical societies for health policy work. She is a member of the Health Policy Clinical Practice subcommittee with the Society of General Internal Medicine (SGIM), Chair of the Health and Public Policy commitee for the Louisiana Chapter of American College of Physicians (ACP), and a member of the Council on Legislation for the Louisiana State Medical Society (LSMS).
