Dr. Buntin will discuss the current policy environment in Washington DC and what it means for health policy and health services research.  

 

Melinda J.B. Buntin is a health economist and a Bloomberg Distinguished Professor at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and the Johns Hopkins Carey Business School. Dr. Buntin joins Hopkins from Vanderbilt University, where she was the University Distinguished Professor in the Departments of Health Policy and of Medicine, Health, & Society and held the Mike Curb Chair for Health Policy as Chair of the Department of Health Policy, Vanderbilt University School of Medicine. Her body of work bridges health care policy and public health by advancing understanding of the U.S. health care delivery system and its costs, with an emphasis on improving the value of care. Dr. Buntin works in the Hopkins Bloomberg Center where she aims to inform health care policy through a newly established Center for Health Systems and Policy Modeling.
