Marianne Bitler is a professor of economics at UC Davis, a research associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research, a Research Fellow at IZA, and a Research Affiliate of the University of Wisconsin's Institute for Research on Poverty. Her work focuses on the effects of social programs on disadvantaged populations, economic demography, and health economics. A substantive share of her work is about the food assistance landscape in the US. She has served on a number of National Academy of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine panels on topics related to food assistance programs and the redesign of the SIPP. Her work has been funded by NICHD, NIA, RWJ, and the ACS.
